Initial Consultation & Assessment

(£125)

This may last up to one hour and includes verbal feedback and a brief written report. Short reports give brief details of the assessment and recommendations. Longer reports can be prepared if required at an additional cost.  Initial consultations normally include a discussion with parents or carers to obtain case history and assessment but may also involve observations and reading of reports from other professionals. Fees vary depending on the level of assessment that is needed. This will be discussed during our informal consultation. Some people may require an assessment session that lasts over one hour. This will be negotiated at the initial consultation.

Standard Therapy Session

(£45-80)

Sessions can last between 30 - 60 minutes depending on you or your child’s/the adults level of need or age. This includes time spent with the child, parents, carers or professionals. Therapy materials will be produced and left after the session for follow-on work. The proposed duration of therapy sessions will be discussed with you after your initial consultation. The fee also includes time spent outside the session in preparation of material, planning, and liaising with parents and professionals. Travel is charged at an additional 45p per mile.  For distances over 15 miles an additional fee will be calculated at £35 per hourly journey. 

 

Group Therapy Sessions

(£45-80)

Sessions can last between 30 – 60 minutes depending on the group’s level of need or age.  This includes time spent liaising with parents/carers or professionals.  Therapy materials will be produced and left after the session for follow-on work.  The proposed duration of therapy sessions will be discussed with you after your initial consultation.  The fee does not include time spent outside the session in preparation of material and planning.

 

Preparation of Group Therapy Materials

It can take time planning and preparing materials for group work, therefore additional fees are charged.  Prices vary depending on the level of need and resources.

School / Nursery Visit  

(£60-80)

Teachers often request school/nursery visits. Such visits are only made with parental agreement. The session will last up to 60 minutes. Therapy undertaken in school on a regular basis is charged at the standard therapy session rate. Where home activities are provided, it is the responsibility of the parents/carers to ensure that the therapy materials are sent back on the appropriate day, and for informing me if their child will be absent from school. Parents/carers are encouraged to come to school-based sessions by arrangement with the school and myself. They can also telephone me to discuss progress and/or any concerns or queries they may have. The fee also includes time spent outside the session in preparation of material, planning, and liaising with parents and professionals. More lengthy sessions can be negotiated.

Contracts within schools

Often schools contract independent therapists to work in school with students with SLCN (speech, language and communication needs). This can be anything from 1 hour a week to a number of days a week. Please contact for availability and quotes.

Review / Reassessment Session

(£80-£125)

These take place usually every 3-6 months and may last up to 90 minutes.  They include verbal feedback and a brief written report that is sent within 10 days of the session. Fees vary depending on the level of assessment that is needed.

Letters, reports and treatment programmes

(£80 per hour)

A therapy programme with materials can also be devised to suit your child’s individual needs. A follow-up telephone call is also included when requested to ensure parents/school staff have no issues in carrying out the programme. Written documents/reports which are additional to the initial assessment report are charged in respect of the total time taken to prepare them.

Training

Talks, workshops and training sessions for groups of parents and professionals can be arranged. Additional charges at the same rate will be made for time taken in preparation and the provision of handouts etc. Prices vary depending on the level of need and resources.
